FORECLOSURE ACTIVITY DECREASES 8 PERCENT IN JUNE

Detroit, Stockton, Calif., and Las Vegas documented the three highest foreclosure rates among the nation’s 100 largest metros in 2007, according to RealtyTrac’s Year-End MSA Foreclosure Report.

Foreclosure filings were reported on 252,363 U.S. properties in June, a nearly 8 percent decrease from the previous month but still a 53 percent increase from June 2007.

Foreclosure filings were reported on 358,471 U.S. properties in July, a decrease of less than 1 percent from the previous month but still an increase of nearly 18 percent from August 2008.
